Another River Trip

The other night we decided to jump in the truck and head down to see the river. We had heard the water was quite high and we were quite surprised at just how high it was when we got there! On the drive down we ran into some deer, actually four of them. I wish my new camera had a better zoom but this is the best I could get.

This deer paused long enough to have it's picture taken.

And then the four of them toodled off down the hill.

This is what our fishing rock looks like when we are fishing. This picture was taken August 2006. Note the arrow.

This is looking at it from the other side, the arrow is in the same spot as the picture above. As you can see the river is up about 30 feet or more. Even our road is under water! And the water had actually come down about 8 feet. Our fishing rock, on the right, sure doesn't look very big now.

And at the end of the night, as we were driving home, I thought this old tree looked interesting. I kept thinking what it would've looked like 50 years ago, probably lush and green in it's prime...
