Failed Technology

I've been trying to find a free automatic email blog notification program that actually works. Not too long ago I put up "Bot A Blog" just over there on the right. It's not working... I've sent them an email but so far, no response, and I figure a company should get back to you within a day or two so I'm not holding out much hope. I changed the url feed this morning and with this post I'm hoping to get an email update, if I don't then it's gone! Most people use Google Reader or Bloglines but there's a few that prefer emails (my Mom) and who aren't very technically inclined (my Mom but she tries). So I thought it would be better for me to set something up than for them to do it.
Everybody out there in Blog land do you have any suggestions? It must be free (I spend enough on computer stuff now), easy to subscribe to, prefer easy setup but willing to fiddle, and no spyware/adware/etc. Gee do you think I'm asking too much?

What we did was to add another email address to our root account at our ISP. We then had THAT account forward everything to both of us. That way we each (or each member of the blog team, in the case of one of the other blogs) get a copy of every comment & post, because Blogger is only able to accommodate a single email address in its "send to" fields.

Make sense? It's the hard way 'round, but ... well, it works, and doesn't have any ads or anything.
