Hubby got a deer a short while ago and my Mom (Oma) whipped up a batch of soup the other day. Most of the veggies came from the garden (mine and Grandma's) and the stock was made with soup bones from a cow we butchered a couple of weeks ago. Along with an assortment of spices I threw in a couple jars of canned tomatoes, regular and stewed, and the flavour was awesome! I planned on canning a few pints with the leftovers but there was none left :(
