Vista and my karma is off

It's not just Vista that is making me grind my teeth, it's a bunch of other things that I can't believe are happening! I'm trying to get this laptop setup and karma is killing me. Yesterday I could not connect online with my network, yet I could see all the computers on the network. After doing everything I could think of, aside from pulling my hair out, I realized that my satellite internet wasn't working. So nothing I could do on my end but wait, but in the meantime I had done a system restore and had lost all the hours I had put in up to that point. The internet came back on last night and I managed to get a lot done today... until 6:00 PM tonight when our power went out for three hours! Hubby brought in a generator for the last two hours or so but what a pain in the butt. The last thing I'm going to b*tch about is I bought a program for video editing a few months ago, it's a dandy program and I'm really liking it. The problem: I can't find the dvd!! I have hunted and searched from one end of my house to the other, the thing has sprouted legs and walked off. Everything seems so much worse than it really is because I'm trying to cut down/off a nasty habit I have... yes I will admit that I am a smoker. I know, bad habit, bad, bad, bad... anyone tried the patch? That's what I'm doing, and I feel like sticking them all over me because the little buggers fall off all the time. Maybe I should just crawl into bed, pull the duvet up over my head, and tomorrow hope for the best? Sounds like a plan :)
PS Vista really isn't that bad, it just takes a bit to get used to. I should have it down pat by the time the next version is out :)

Have you tried sticking it to the top of your foot, or on your ankle? Someplace that gets fairly low traffic? Because, really, once you put your sock on... it's not really going to work its way off.

Do you find that they give you nightmares? That having a constant infusion of nicotine affects your dreams?

Have you tried the gum? They've got mint, now, which makes it easier to transition away from. When I did the gum, all they had was this stuff that tasted like a combination of plastic, black pepper, and earwax. They've come a long way....

Good luck.

The worst time to be playing with a pc is late at night. Now if something goes wrong after 6pm,I leave it till next day. Its amazing how you can avoid a total reinstall just by being awake enough to see what really is wrong LOL
Love the wallets above and Im going to ahve a go at corking(loom knitting) by making my own all because I want to try some of your patterns:)

Oh, bless your heart!! My son is trying to quit, too. I quit 20 something years ago and all I had was this nasty tasting Niccorette gum that was like licking a dirty ashtray - but I LOVED it! =)

Good luck to you! I'll be rooting for you!! Hugs!

The only thing that I used to quit smoking was morning sickness. It did wonders for me! That and having a husband that was a rabid anti-smoker helped a lot too. Good luck to you! It is never too late and you will eventually feel a lot better.
