Home...at last

Queen of Coquitlam leaving the Duke Point Ferry terminal

We all got home safe and sound around 9:30 last night. It was a long day, mostly waiting for my brother at a trucking company in Delta where he had applied for work. The dogs were happy to see me, the chickens were all okay, and even the cat was bouncing around the yard, (aren't animals great? They just miss you so much!) I did take my one Chihuahua with me, Annie, just because she is a really good traveller.
While I was in Nanaimo, besides shopping, Sydney and I saw the new movie Premonition. I won't spoil it for the ones that haven't seen it but I have to say it was good. Mind you it's been quite a few years since I was in a theatre, I think the last movie I saw was...hmmmm (I'm thinking)... Dante's Peak back in 1997! (I had to look that up, and I'm not even sure if I'm right it's been so long LOL). While I was there I kept thinking how great a day we had. Sometimes I ache to leave the lifestyle I have and move somewhere where everything is so in reach. If I had to pick just one place in this world I think my first choice would be New York. Can you imagine living in a place where you can get pretty much everything? It's so common in any one of the stores I shop at to hear "well we can order that but it won't be in 'til next Wednesday." Or not having to drive for two hours every month to just simply get groceries on sale? Or better yet: order a meal by phone and actually have it delivered? Or home mail delivery! (Okay calm down) But then I guess there's things that even New Yorkers can't have...chickens in your backyard, fishing for sockeye all summer at the river, dead quiet on a summer night sitting on your porch...Maybe I could just trade places for a short time?? Any New Yorkers out there want to, it's only about a 4000 KM distance between there and Lillooet :)
While I was in Nanaimo I taught my Mom to loom...again :) I started a scruffie slipper on the blue KK and so did she, although I'm not sure if she finished hers yesterday, I finished up mine while on the ferry using my heels without holes table. So today I will start up the match because I really don't feel like doing much else, it takes me at least a day to "get my groove back." Who am I kiddin'? Right after this post I plan on making some yogurt, I have a load of laundry already on the go, and my chickens have been let out and are pecking around the front yard! What else do I have to do???
I'll leave you with some pictures of Jevan and Sydney playing in the park. There's a picture in the slide show where Jevan is looking at a jukebox. After the park we went to a restaurant called "Fast Eddie's," been there forever I think, anyway I stuck in some change and we all picked songs...Jevan punched in 1,2,3....when it came on it was "Born to be Wild" oh boy it sure describes him!

The kids are so cute :) Good for you, going to the movies. I can't believe someone hasn't been there since as long as me! I really want to see Premonition. I think the last movie I saw at the theatre was Assasins or Seven, like 11 or 12 years ago. Gotta love Netflix ;)

So sorry I missed you while you were here. Too short of a trip and those darn BC Ferries eh! Nice pictures of Sydney and Jevan. Love from Auntie Bonnie

I'm so glad you had a wonderful time! Your children are precious! The picture below with the mountains in the background is breathtaking!

Funny, I live in a town (fast becoming a city! So much growth and construction...) and I'd give anything to live in a place like where you live! LOL! The grass is always greener...=)

So glad your chickens survived! =)

Take care!
