One Year... Wow! :)

Time flies when you're having fun! Wow! In all the excitement about everyone else's upcoming Blogoversary I totally forgot about my own LOL! I started my blog March 1, 2006.
It's been one year since my first, very brief, post. I've met a ton of online friends, mostly from my looming groups and quite a few from all over the world. I keep in touch with friends and family and it's been fun. I hope to add new patterns, recipes, and what it's like living on a ranch. From my stats I can see I have some regular readers (and not just family!). A lot of people I don't know, but some I recognize like a steady visitor from Cache Creek is my girlfriend Pat, of course my Mom from Nanaimo, and some unknowns from all over. Tomorrow my countdown banner will reset to 365 and I hope my next year will keep ya'll as interested as you've been this past year :)

I haven't been doing a lot of looming but I have picked up some sticks. This past week I've made up two batches of yogurt, the kids love it and so do I and last night I baked up Flax Seed Peanut Butter cookies, you can get the recipe from my sister-in-law's site: Little Pieces of Us. Of course I modified the recipe a bit: I doubled it, cut the white flour to 2 cups, added 1/2 cup whole wheat flour. Ground the flax and added 1/4 cup of whole flax seeds too. The cookies are sitting on the "Little Houses" dishcloth I knitted up from The Dishcloth Boutique located on page 4 of the knitting patterns. Be forewarned there is one pattern with a mistake, page 4 "Diamonds Galore" row 6-10 Knit 7 should be Purl 7, and I have posted in the forum regarding that. I'm sure a lot of these patterns could be made on a loom so even if you don't knit with sticks you might get a few looming patterns from them, good site to check out. On the subject of looming there is a brand new online magazine dedicated to loomers! Isela and Denise (both well known to the looming circle) have started it. View it here: Loom Knitters Circle.
