Jevan swimming in the pool. Brrrr still too cold for me!
The snow is fading fast!
The Shasta Daisys are still in bloom, and if anyone wants some I have a totally out of control patch in my flower garden, help yourself!
The other day I left a comment at "Wish I Were Baking..." about homemade brandy, and DaviMack responded back that my "Three Month Brandy" can be made in under an hour! "UNDER AN HOUR?!" I will definitely have to try that, woohoo on that one, thank you DaviMack! With talk of that I reminded Davimack about making his homemade Kahlua, so that reminded me of an old Tia Maria recipe I have (and the world goes 'round & 'round). It's nice to let it age so now would be a great time to make it. Come summer you can fill a glass with ice cubes, milk, and a splash, you've then got yourself a pretty tasty drink :) Heck you could even dump the whole drink into a coconut with one of those tacky little umbrellas, and while you're on a roll don't forget the beach sand... just be sure to send me the picture of you in your grass skirt :)
Tia Maria
2 cups white sugar
2 1/2 cups water
2 tablespoons instant coffee
Bring to a boil and cool.
Add:
1- 26 ounce bottle Vodka
2 tablespoons vanilla extract (preferably the "good" stuff)
Age. Serve with milk over ice.

Oh, I wish I could come pick some of these from your garden! =)
My mom and I made kalua one year and it turned out really good! I've never made brandy, I'll have to check that out.
I must say that the long-play version is probably tastier, and definitely higher in alcohol content. ;)
You inspired me: I went out & bought the ingredients for making Kahlua this morning.
What a pro! It looks like he's first place in a race. Natually why not, it must be the good genes. :)
I love the picture of the snow on the mountains. I also love the fact that it is up there and I am down here. :) It truly is beautiful scenery though. I think this was the first day of summer or close to it and a beautiful day it was, my kind of weather. I love your daisies but you can keep them all and take some of mine as well. They do tend to take over and they are very hard to pull but they will take over the smaller plants if you let them grow.
I do hope tomorrow brings another nice weather day.
Hi Kansas...Looks like Jevan is having a lot of fun. It makes you want to jump in and join him...I'll take some daisies when I see you next...Pat
