Please Call Ahead

As I've mentioned before I have quite a few blogs in my Google Reader. A lot of these bloggers are involved in organizing/cleaning of some sort. One that stands out is "Tackle it Tuesday," and there's a few others. How I wish I could jump on that bandwagon! Seriously I have no idea how they are able to do it. Some of these woman have (gasp) more than two kids, even babies and toddlers roaming their clean houses! I'm lucky to get the dog & cat hair off my kitchen floor. I have three chihuahuas and a blue heeler, along with one cat. On any given day Grandma's three dogs can usually be found sprawled out on my carpet close to the woodstove, and two of them are labs (large labs) and then there's "No No" her blue heeler (I just love her to pieces). Whenever I wash quilts I swear a dog falls out of the dryer! I won't even talk about the messes my four year old creates, just that whatever mess I'm cleaning up from him in one room, he's usually making another one in another room. But I'm getting off track here... I seriously wonder if some of these people have professional cleaners come in. Or maybe the "Cleaning Fairy" swoops in during the night and magically sprinkles "clean dust" all around the house, if that's true I really need to talk to her. "Hey, Cleaning Fairy, you've been missing my house for quite some time!"

I got to thinking about this when I read a quote the other day. I think I'm going to print it out and have it framed, or better yet, just lick my finger and scrawl it in the dust on my living room tables.

If you're coming to see me, stop by anytime.
If you're coming to see my house, please call ahead.

N
ot that calling ahead would really matter, it's just that it would give me time to come up with a dozen excuses as to why my house is such a mess :)

Mine has never been clinical as I call it.
You can have a pristine house or live in it but not both .

Love your blog,I will stop by often:)

Kansas,

Know matter how messy your house is you always make your company feel welcome, and that's what matters. Aside from the fact we come to see you and the family NOT how messy your house is.

It can be a house or if it is lived in then it is a home.I prefer the home. Auntieb

Yup! My house is definitely of the "lived in " variety.

LOL! I think everyday is equal to Tackle It Tuesday and Works For Me Wednesday!

How I wish I could drive down your driveway and visit you and your lovely family, all the dogs and chickens, too!
