Windstorm 2007

UPDATE: I've added a video at the bottom of this post.
Last night I thought our house was going to blow right off the foundation! It was dark, and other than what my porch lights were lighting up, I couldn't see much... until this morning. Here's a slew of pictures of the damage.

This is our driveway, behind the first tree is about 12 more trees across the driveway. In total approximately 40-50 trees have come down all over the Ranch!

A long view of the driveway. All the trees along the road are gone!

Thank goodness I live with a logger! Saw almost in hand he set to work clearing the path.

Grandma has a small cabin on her front lawn where my niece stays, thank goodness Jess wasn't home last night or she would have been trapped. The red porch roof has completely come down and is blocking the glass doors into the cabin. The willow was the largest willow on the Ranch.

Another view of the cabin.

Then there's one of the hay barns... with no roof. This picture was taken from Grandma's deck.

I walked down to the main barn and here's where the roof landed.

"Bart, what the heck happened!?"

Hubby has cleared enough of a path to drive up the driveway.

I have never seen so much destruction on the Ranch before! Things have calmed down considerably but we still have a wind warning in effect, I'm not sure when it's supposed to end. I'm off to video Hubby running the skidder clearing more of the debris... hopefully no more trees come down, especially when we're out there! Stay tuned for a video!

Update: Video added.

Wow I thought our last snow storm did a lot of damage. But I suppose I don't have nearly as many trees as you do.

Hi Kansas........
I am so glad no one was hurt. I love to watch a storm on the beach but I see it's not fun on the ranch! It is unbelievable how much damage the wind can do. I do hope it has settled down a bit tonight.

Love Ya!

Hey Kansasa,

Holly s#!t! Glad to hear everyone is OK -especially that Jess wasn't in the cabin.

Sad about the hay barn, guess Uncle Ken is happy they got the other hay barn built, now he's back to where he was before.

Mum gave me a call to tell me to check your site out- said it was pretty nasty-something about the eye of the storm...yikes, I'll check in later for updates.

We all say HI and Hannah was quite glad to hear that Sydney was OK, and of course you, Jevan, & Johnny too. Take care, from the folks in Victoria- Sonya,Damon,Hannah,& Noah.

so sorry that you had all that trouble - what a mess.
glad that everyone is safe. In the end that is what really matters - despite all the difficulty for us - at least we are safe.

Wow! You really are lucky you are married to a loggin' man! I hope that the wind warning does not bring any more fallen trees and that you get things fixed soon!

I'm so glad that you all are ok! That was some windstorm!! Some of those trees were HUGE! It is sad about the big willow tree - what a lovely tree that was.

Anyway, glad everyone there is ok!
