My Backyard

It was a quiet day so I took what dogs would follow me and headed over to the Barn Field.

Within minutes every horse on the field will come a running, this makes it difficult to take individual pictures as the horses will gather around you in a group, all waiting to be petted or hoping you have an apple or carrot in your pocket (today I had neither).

I'm not much of a "horse gal" but if I had to say there was one horse on the field that I really like, that horse would be Woody.  I don't know why but Woody seems to have some kind of personality that you can't help but like.

This one needs a haircut... sorta reminds me of Sydney with her long bangs.

It's quite a sight to see, and hear, horses eat.  They "nibble" and will chew right down to the ground, the sound is something hard to explain... something similar to biting into an apple.

Doolittle seems to be having fun and is getting used to being outside.  Here's a couple of rare pictures with his ears up, catching him in motion seems to be the key!

Blue loves chasing sticks, although someday I may teach him to bring them back because right now he just chews them to bits.  You really have to keep an eye on Blue when around horses, he'll nip their heels causing them to kick.  No matter how many times I give him heck I'm sure this trait is born into heelers and it's a tough habit to break.

Jumbo running away from Cinnamon, our small Shetland pony!

Looking north towards town.

Then it was time to head back to the house, Woody follows me all the way to the gate.

Gorgeous photos. I love the contrast in the sky and mountains with the fields and trees. Wonderful photo of the horse eating the grass to the ground.
