Red Chair

This week's assignment over at DPS is "Chair." First thing I thought was "How do I make a chair interesting?" All week visions of chairs danced through my head until I had one of those "aha" moments. I tossed around a few ideas and finally came up with what I wanted.

I had to wait until Hubby came home from work on Friday to implement my plan and said to him "What do you think of putting one of our red leather chairs in the field with Sydney sitting in it holding her guitar wearing a cowboy hat? Oh, and by the way, I'd like the cows to be in the background."

I almost fell out of my chair when he simply said "Sure." He lugged the big heavy chair out to the upper horse pasture, weaving in and out of a temporary fence I'd put up near the pool, eventually setting it down with the curious cows quickly surrounding it. All the while I'm thinking "he must really love me." It was either that or the fact that I hadn't cooked supper yet ;)

After taking 120 pictures I finally weeded them down to two. Then settled on one.
Red Chair

The other picture was this one but I think it lacks focus on the chair.

Which one do you like better?

Kansas,
They are both great pictures but I think I like the top one. Sydney is so good at abliging you, or is it she loves to get her picture taken?

A.) You are INCREDIBLY creative.
B.) Man, does your honey love you.

I think you're right -- I like seeing Syd's face in the second one, but I like her looking at the sky and the cows in the background and the CHAIR in the foreground.

Trust me, NOBODY ELSE is going to have done a homework assignment like you did. NOBODY.

Ooh, that's a hard choice. If the second one weren't so closely cropped on the right-hand side, I'd say to go with that one, simply because the cows look ... oh, menacing.

As they are, though: the first one definitely says, "chair."

I like the second one, it looks like his back up group behind him just waiting to sing.

I agree, the first one is awesome! I love the second one as well, but it's more cow-y than chair-y.
And I like that in the first one, Sydney isn't looking toward the camera, nor are the cows. It seems more relaxed, like you caught a moment, less set up.
Super idea putting the chair in the cow field!!

WOW ... heheh. the pics are both awesome. I like the second one better but would choose the first one... I agree...it is more chair-y...or...maybe...wait...nah...god...they are both awesome...hehe

LOVE them both but i agree on the top one being the choiciest. The whole thing looks completely natural, like the cattle have a small girl playing guitar in a big red chair there every day and are not in the least bit phased by it.

great work!!

That's a tough choice! I love the first one. That's my vote!
Great pics!

I think they're both great. They each have their own merits. The first one is more detached. The second one is absolutely inclusive. So depends on what mood you're going for. Detached works for me.

I hope you are not working to hard ab I do not want to bother you

You are too funny! Who else would use cows as a prop?
I really like the second one because of the cows checking it all out but I agree that the first one is more "chair". It is almost as if Sydney is in the middle of a dream sequence.
