Flip Over Mitts

These are by all means a really rough draft! But I thought it was a start. I used the blue round KK. Take in mind it's my 8 year old daughter's hand so it appears big but it actually fits me pretty well. It's all one piece except for the cuff of course. I'd definitely do some things different though such as:
  1. Shorten the space between the end of the cuff and beginning of the thumb.
  2. Probably do a K1 P1 flat knit for the cuff itself so it would be tight and not so bulky) I used two strands of wool and ewrapped the cuff.
  3. Do the K1 P1 only on the inside of the hand, instead of all the way around at the centre. (You can see this in picture 3)
  4. K1 P1 at the beginning of the flap (it's way too loose, you can see in picture 2)
  5. I did the flap opening on half the pegs (12) instead I would do the flap on probably 8 or so because the flap opening is a bit too large.
  6. Should I somehow try to add a thumb?
Okay so those are my recommendations....what do y'all think? Please add some!

I love your ideas. I am going to have to work on this some this week. There was a site that has how to make a mitten on one loom and shows how to do the thumb. I think adding the thumb would make the mitten convertible to fingerless or a true mitten. You are a great inspiration to me!!!!

I saw your post on the knifty knitter looms on yahoo. I think these gloves are terrific. I'm going to try and do them as soon as I finish the afghan for my new niece /nephew. Thanks for sharing.

I think they look great! Did you purchase a pattern? Is this easy to loom?

Great job!!!

I have to try to make these. I think I'll do them to match the snowman hat and scarf that I made for my sister (she'd love it!)

Thanks for sharing with us!
